New updates

Just before we alight from my FIL's car to get on board StarCruise Virgo, my phone rang and I got a call from Julia Gabriel. Heidi's finally off the waiting list and finally got a spot at Julia Gabriel's Bilingual Playgroup on Saturdays!

Me: So when is the first lesson?
JG personnel: 17th Sept.
Me: Ok sounds good!

Hmm...why does 17th September sounded so familiar...???

I double-booked myself! I've arranged for a lunch date with my Poly mates and now I have to bring Heidi for her class first. WAAHHHHH...which means...I have to bring Heidi along to the lunch. I can't palm her to my in-laws...

Quick summary of what we've been up to...

August 27th marks our first cruise trip...
Destination...Redang Island...
Heidi and mama waiting for our turn to go Redang Island~
Happy Heidi at the cruise restaurant...
Honestly, this is our first and LAST trip on a cruise...
I am not very happy on this trip because:
1) There's only 2 timeslot in their cinema and if you missed it then its too bad.
2) The swimming pool is ICY COLD!!! (except for the jacuzzi but you aren't suppose to soak there too long)
3) There's certain timing for meals only and they have warnings all around that you can't take food out and etc.
4) I have to queue with 800 over other ppl for the small boat ride out to and fro Redang!?

Super sianz especially when Heidi's near-recovering cough turned worse on board. She's not cranky but she can't eat well and sleep well and that bothers me a lot! Good thing its only a weekend cruise and we are home soon.

What I did enjoyed was the slight swaying when you lie in bed though...and the great customer services all around. Very wonderful crew members.

 Spontaneous Trip to Chinese Garden
Entry fees: $12 per adult

Heidi and Cher~
Trip so spontaneous that I really can't remember the date...
The lanterns are nice but the atmosphere really lose out to that long time ago when I first came with my parents and grandma. The lanterns then were even more spectacular. With fireworks and smokes coming out of the dragons' mouth and etc...magnificient!

But this...now...haiz...like that lor...

Maegen and Charlotte's party

Heidi, another attraction of the party, helped feed the guests...
It's only now then I let Heidi wear a dress...a prim and proper one that is. Why so late? I have to wait till she has more hair mah...

Anyway this Ralph dress was a hit! and I myself were pretty impressed by how nice she looked in this basic cut, princess dress! Hope I can find more deals like this soon...

Proud parents with lovely gals~
Looking at how Maegen had matured and accepted Charlotte, I am glad that my cousin had decided to go on and have a 2nd child. Really 1 is so lonely...

Cousins are just cousins after all...I've been trying to imagine my life without my bro or sister. End up I can't. It's totally unimaginable! I can't do without my siblings! I love them even though we've had our fights and arguments and etc etc...but they are my siblings after all. When some thing happens, they are still on my side no matter what! Praise God for blessing me with wonderful siblings and I thank you that You watches over them...and You never rest...

Amen!

Heidi's already 18 months old!

Happy 18th month old, Heidi!
I am totally loving my baby...
for your curly locks...
for your beautiful smile...
for your perfect teeth and chubby cheeks...
who blows at my wounds, trying to make it better.
who said "Oh shit" when I needed some empathy.
who's eyes speaks of depth and understandings but is totally cheeky and imaginative.
who gave me time to understand her needs and cries and gives me a hug and kiss when I needed one.
who learns very well and meets her milestones so mama don't have to feel bad about being a part-time mom.
who looks remorseful at breaking the glass of honey even though its mama's fault for leaving it out there for you to break.
last but not least...for making mama your #1 choice...

You are still nursing a flu...

It started with a running nose...and as usual...even though we see a doctor early...her running nose will run into a cough and then the cough...haiz...to cut the usual long story short. This time I have to give my in-laws credit for bringing Heidi to see the doctor early. But I have to take some credit back when they refused to administer the medications properly.

Heidi was given 1. Cough syrup, 2. Running nose med, 3. Nose drop and 4. Paracentamol just in case theres a fever. And as usual...my in-laws chose to omit the nose drop altogether. Cough syrup and running nose med only when they hear her cough or see her nose running. (honestly, given their eyesight...haiz...)

So...I know something's not right when Heidi's nose is still running after a week. We brought her to see our fav physician. Her case wasn't that bad and she really enjoyed the chinese med. A week passed and we are soon due on board for our cruise trip to Redang...which I seriously am regretting going because it actually deprives me of my rights to vote for our President...

Double haiz when the air-con on board worsen Heidi's cough and her nose started running again...triple haiz when the food aren't fantastic and I see a 100% display of my FIL's kiasu-ness in rushing to the restaurants and etc. WORSE is...we have to queue with about 800 over ppl just to get on board the tiny boat running to and fro from ship to Redang. I feel so cheated. Honestly I will have a better time flying direct to Redang and staying at a resort there direct.

The only thing I like about the cruise is the slight swaying when you lie on the bed. But with a sick baby...mama don't get to sleep much...

Very the fucked up.

The only way I can feel better is to save all the money spent on the cruise back into our saving accounts and a trip to somewhere more worthwhile...

买东西,吃东西~...

买东西,吃东西...买东西,吃东西...

Such is life in Hong Kong~

Great food, great weather, great customer service~

I only face 1 hiccup...from Singapore to HongKong. The lady at the custom refused to believe my photo on my passport...!@#@$!@!...
She made me show her my IC...she said my nose looked quite different...as if she can see my nose on the black and white oversaturated passport photo...#@$%#%@#!...

In Hong Kong, though the MTR are rather crowded, but they are high in frequency. Waiting time for the next train is short and all the stations are within close proximity to each other. From Jordan to CausewayBay...less than 30 min. Convenient. You get to your destination on time.

We stayed at Prudential Hotel again this time and we tried the chinese restaurant just downstairs. Cheap and good! 5 of us had dim sum breakfast for barely SGD$30! Cheap cheap cheap!!!

My friend and her mom went crazy at Bess - a HK boutique offering 50 to 40% off. So onz were they that we got 3 membership cards...haha...I can go shop again next time! Woohooo...

This trip we did some tourisy stuffs...visited the Giant Buddha at Lantau Island and Disneyland~ even though I didn't climb up the steps to the mega fella and only get on mild rides in Disneyland. The Poohbear HoneyPot ride was really fun.

I am lazy to break up my post...besides...I might only post Day01 and forget about the rest. So this is going to be a super long post. Pictures speak for themselves but I will try to key in as much details as I can...haha...

Here goes:
Day 01

Setting off to HK with my Giant Chupachup...

The famous roast goose place where Simon, Joey & Denzel brought us to...

It was quite a rush to meet up with them as Simon is set to leave HK the very next day...so we have to meet them as soon as we checked into Prudential Hotel.

Of all the roast goose stalls there...only this one has a loooonnngg queue.

Here's a tip. If you see a queue in HK at some eatery, don't be afraid to join it. Chances are the food is really good and the turn-over is very high. So you will get your seat very soon. And they take care of each and everyone of their customers very well. They wouldn't forget you nor let someone else cut you.

I love Denzel's shirt. He's grown and is such a gentleman now...so happy to see him....
Simon and his new toy...we are really tempted to get one too...

This is very very very GOOD!!!

After dinner, we went to visit their new place. I wanna see the 3 goldies...Sushi's rather naughty now...Puma's the same and Nike seems a bit down. Poor guy...but it is great how they get along with Denzel and contrary to other beliefs, Joey & Simon didn't abandon them after having Denzel. :D

Day 02

The next morning, while Alec & family set off for Ocean park...we decided to go shopping around Causeway Bay.

Breakfast is very important....

Even simple food such as these has a queue....

Nice!!!

We slipped into an alley @ Causeway Bay and found this old street...

All of the stores are selling Halloween stuffs...apparently Halloween is quite big in HK.

Nostalgic...

Is my nose bigger?

We badly need a rest after our spree at H&M...

The porkchop is delicious and very soft...almost like chicken...

I was really determined to get to this sports boutique called Rush and get my fitflops...that I didn't hesitate to climb up the slope...

Rush is just ahead!!! But sadly...the fitflops aren't very much cheaper than when Isetan was having sales...sianz....

Day 03

Itinerary: Garden Street and Mongkok~

Shiba Inus at Garden Street...awe they are so cute! I want to take one of them home!!!

Chui Hua...highly recommended by my friend.

Somehow...even the instant noodles tasted better in Hong Kong...
We headed back to Tsim Sha Tsui to have dinner with Alec & Family, our travelling companion. Roast Goose again...but not as nice as the one Simon brought us to...haha...

This pic ain't supposed to be here but I seriously can't remember which morning was it that we had dim sum at the restaurant behind our hotel....

Dinner with Gar!!! Back at Causeway bay's Chui Hua again...

Then we had dessert at Man Ji.

I had red bean soup and bean curd...NICE!

Kelvin and Gar have this...sea coconut...

Me and Gar wearing the same color...haha...

Gar and I cracked a joke once how his daughter will be named Oriental Wong...so he asked me if I will name my gal Oriental as well...haha...Oriental Lam?

Day 04
Itinerary: Lantau Island and Disneyland~

Alec heard that the dim sum restaurant in the same building as our hotel is good! So we decided to try it out...

Cher and Mommy~

Cher has 100 over expressions when the food is good...haha...

The porridge is reallly nice...but the carrot cake is...so-so only. But overall, 5 thumbs up for the price and food quality~

On train to Lantau Island.

Cher doing her pole dance...

This was why we paid more...just for a stupid piece of glass on the ground...felt conned...

Me and the pretty Chen ladiess....

Ok lah...the view below ain't so bad...

The big buddha....

Don't worry...I didn't climb the steps...

Douhua and sesame paste break...

Off to DISNEY~~~

Our travelling companion...

Cher being acrobatic on the train again...

Autumn sky ain't really ideal for photos...which isn't such a pity that Kelvin forgot to pack his spare camera battery...hahaha...

Baby harness for Cher...in case she went missing...

Each entry is different! So nice!

Tomorrowland~

Photo with Belle and Aurora~

It's a Small World afterall~~~

Gloomy sky...

The ride is super calming and its so Mary Blair~~~
She's such a talent...

Harassing the broom...haha...

Merry-Go-Round!!!
Nope...didn't climb on the horse...Kelvin made me sit in the stationary carriage...

Dumbo ride is pretty mild too...

Pooh bear honey pot ride...fun! I love it inside. No wonder it is so popular~

Princess Aurora and her Prince Philip...~

High School Musical!!!

Many Minnies running around...

I love the display...great sculptures. Really missed the actual store in Singapore last time...haiz...

Photo with Donald!!!
We tried twice and failed to take pic with Mickey and Minnie. Each time they have to rush for parade...*yawns*...so angry...poor Cher was disappointed but at least she got a sniff from Mickey Mouse...haha...

Tired Cher doing her acrobatic again...

Day05
Itinerary: Shopping at Tsim Sha Tsui and home to SG~

We finally sat in Xu Liu Shan.

It's interesting how the sweet and sour stuffs are sold in carriages like this...
Tempted to buy but I can feel the beginning of a cough...

What is a Hong Kong trip without Wanton Noodles???
Glad we sneaked into this stall before departure. Cheap and good...

Special Halloween edition of Toro and Kuro.

I think they aren't ex. SGD$20 each. So I begged Kelvin to buy. Literally. He didn't want to. But he gave in and bought them...haha...cute mah???

I didn't buy any blythe stuffs at CTMA. More interested in food this round. I guess. Bought a few nice clothes from Bossini, Bess and Garden Street. Was really controlled this trip...because of the weather lah! Autumn wear...how to buy??? Actually can buy...but I only target the sales items. I missing Hong Kong already. Maybe we will pop by again next year. My folks are eager to visit again, that's for sure.

Finally the end of my super long entry...phew...
