Guard your men!!!
I don't know what came over me but the first thought that jumped at me was...what a lot of cute gals out there!!!! AARRGGHHH!!!
Anyway...I've finally recovered from my flu well enough to go back to my affectionate self towards my hubby. I noticed that he is SO mirroring all my bad habits! Like how I will shut up and turn up my mouth and refuses to talk when something upset me...he does that!!! He's turning into this nasty piece of foul mannered bitch...LIKE ME!!!
AAaarrgghhhh!!!
That means I can't be my usual mean, foul mannered, bad mouthing bitch or he will mirror me!!! He's even mirrored my stupid monkey jiggle! AAAaarrgghhhhh......
ANYWAY...we are going to start dating again this Saturday...after a baby shower...we are going to have dinner and a movie....woohoo...it will be just like the old times...

Damages today...
Spoilts for the day...
I am not very happy...I spent my hard-earned money on unnecessary stuffs...*SOB*
I am plagued by guilt now...I could have booked us for a Batam trip to Holiday Inn Resort with a 3 hr spa instead. My only consolations...didn't spend enough to book a Bali Villa nor a trip for 1 to HongKong.
Stupid sales gimmick...what Xmas party...why did I fall for it???
This is the door gift. Came with a 20ml cleanser and some anti-aging cream and etc...notice the nail polish on my finger? It's free express manicure at the party as well...
Free photoshoot for me and SiauYene.
The stuffs next to the photo are freebies that we are entitled to cos SiauYene had signed on as a Shu Uemura member too...
What did I buy?
3 x lip gloss
1 x lip stick
1 x eyelash curler
1 x ultimate mascara
1 x midnight winter sakura (limited and exclusive for this Xmas only)
I guess I was carried away by the art of Mika on the packaging. I was also carried away by the demonstration...on my way back, my husband asked me this...
Kelvin: So what did you learn today?
Me: emm...creating smoky eyes with more than one color...
Kelvin: oh you mean printing just black with all CMYK cartridges?
Me: Yah...something like that...
Kelvin: And you fall for it...
............................did I say how much I love my husband?

Anniversary Stay

Imagine our surprise when we found out that they gave us a bridal suite for our anniversary stay~ Woohoo!!!
First thing I felt was regret at not getting more friends to join us. Big reason is because we have a wedding banquet to attend to at the hotel opposite ours...haiz...trust me to plan stuffs back-to-back with hardly a break time.
The bridal suite is still very nice (even though the furnishing seems sorta dated...)They even folded swans out of towels to welcome us...so cute!
*oh shito...just remembered that I forgot my Furama bear(featured above) yet again...I left it at The Square restaurant this time*
I was exceptionally happy on that day itself because I've booked spa packages for me and Kelvin! SpaFurama just started operations and after calling them up, they assured me that hotel guests get discounts for the spa treatments!
So I booked the day and the time with them there and then, called Kelvin up...
"Dar~, there's a new spa at Furama leh~"
"Orh...do you want to try? Call and book lor..."
"Called liao. All that's left is for you to chose the package nia..."
"................ -_-;....." (even over the phone I can roughly see his expression...)
So we went to the hotel spa...the circular doors and circular rooms a tad silly...ai hip bie hip...unpractical interior design...bo liao...
BUT the services and spa treatment were HEAVENLY~
I took the package - Coconut Oil wrap + lavender sea salt scrub + scalp massage + huna huna full body massage. Then I psychoed Kelvin into taking the - Redwine + rice body wrap + dunno what scrub + scalp massage + Furama Touch. (Furama Touch is Balinese massage - Hard, huna huna is medium to hard...I think Swedish massage...)
Also we were treated to complimentary chillin' lemon grass + honey drink...it tasted weird the first round but really nice after we gotten used to the taste. In bliss...we were sipping our special concoction when the spa staff came over with a troubled look...
There is no 35% discount for hotel guests...only hotel staffs. But because it is them who made the mistake, they are giving us a 1 for 1 price for the spa package we took and on top of that...10% discount for their mistake. WOOOHWEEEEeeee...totally awesome~~~
And their 1 for 1 offer is actually for ala carte item...hehehe...happy happy happy~ Somemore their massage quite good...stopped me whinning about going to Holiday Inn in Batam for weeks...(almost...I've stopped whinning for 1 week now)
So after the spa pampering, we got ready to go over to the next hotel to attend Claudine and Kelvin Cheng's wedding. Hers was a massive event...60 tables! kwa kwa kwa...I was feeling comprehensive about agreeing to be a receptionist gals but honestly...the groom's mother and brother did help out a lot! And one of Claudine's friend...who seems like the banquet manager to me...was really pro and she solved a lot of problems. Hallelujah...It was a really lovely event and Claudine gave us good tables with a good view of the stage. :D
The next day...we woke up early despite the rain...and I ushered Kelvin to go swimming with me...yes...I am crazy...but we are checking out at 12pm! There's no enough time to swim...
Luckily the complimentary lunch buffet only starts at 12pm. So we can enjoy after we check out.
The swans had been disintegrated into spare towels by then...2 and a half hour of buffet...I dread the scale result...
Great food at The Square! Loves the satay especially...and rice and cod fish and roast duck and roast chicken and desserts...
Aiyah...all in all I had a great stay at this hotel again and I wrote a compliment letter before I left...which was replied to via email by the GM. Hope they keep up the good work and make many couples happy like us...hehehe...

27 Dresses

I finally caught 27 Dresses...the movie is alright. The actress is gorgeous and her sister (in the movie) is the perfect bitch you will love to hate. The plot was a little too fast paced and her boss whom she was secretly in love with...although he is supposed to be a Oxford graduate, loves nature, vegetarian, animal lover and all...sounds like a complete dock who can't even do his own tie!
On the contrary, James Marsden (Cyclop - loses Jane to Wolverine, Prince Charming - loses girl to modern man in Happily Ever After, Loses Lois back to SuperMan) was the perfect man for the show! I guess he lose a little in height but he was oozing with charm and charisma (just like in Hair Spray) and he sure can sing!
Halfway through the show, I was actually afraid that he's gonna lose the gal again...but Phew!
Predictable ending...with everyone learning the lessons they have to learn at the end of the day. Watch it when you are bored or feeling lousy in life.
It certainly brought back a lot of memories about my own wedding...
Everything was perfect...in my eyes...the perfect groom, the perfect gown, the perfect guests, the perfect march-in...woo...and I feel so like a princess...

Finally got our actual day wedding album
Bumping into Sam at Jade & Jared's wedding...I jokingly demanded for our wedding album.
Sam addressed us as "债主“ and attempted to dodge. It is seriously amazing how he can maintain his figure. At the way he refused to eat during wedding dinner and the dedication he displayed to take photos...our brothers kept asking..."为什么你都不会瘦?”
Then when he was caught wiping his sweat after climbing up the chair and etc...
"为什么你都不会瘦?”
Can't tell if Sam was blushing or not...but anyway!...we finally got our wedding album! As suspected and expected, Mr Ong did a great job! So nice! Even if I find myself cringing as I spotted my double chin here and there....haiz...
*NOTE: Following advise only applies to fleshy ladies.
Brides-to-be, please remember to tuck in your chin constantly!
*NOTE: Here onwards...all can follow...
And before your big day, practice for your best and most flattering angle in front of the mirror. Get your jiemei(arm them with paintball guns) to be on standby to spot any other ladies in white who threatens to steal your limelight.
No matter what...only the bride is allowed to be the 主角!!!
Haiz...we were attending Yee-wei's screening just now...and we caught "Losers" on the big screen again. "Losers" was a production by Yee-wei, Kelvin and their other buddy - David back in 2005. I was drafted in to help unwittingly...
And Kelvin and I were so SLIM back then!!! What happened to us!????? I strongly suspect that everything's gotta be blamed for our Taiwan trip. Before we went to Taiwan, I was able to fit into my 25 inch jeans smoothly...after our trip...I have to get 27 inch...and after 2 yrs...still 27 inch...
ARGH!!! WE MUST SLIM DOWN!!! I still want to take nice nice photos!!! *SOB*

Post - wedding thoughts - 01
some after thoughts accumulated from my own wedding...
As a woman...then as the bride-to-be, you will come to realise that:
1) All the skin care procedure that you've painstakingly applied on every day and night is all for this day.
- yet you will still be fuming over pimples as your wedding date is near. Mainly due to stress and excitement about the event.
2) Theres serum for everything! Lip serum, eye serum, skin serum and hair serum!
3) All the hand lotion that you've been applying faithfully did not let you down!
- close up of hands looked good even without Photoshop. I strongly recommend the Nivea Hand with Age Defying Q10plus Intensive Care!
4) There is no better diet plan than cutting down on your food (especially the unhealthy food)
5) Guests who can't show up for your wedding are still your friends. It is those who's indifferent to the fact that you are getting married are the ones you should be wary of....
All the skin care, all the grooming...everything is just for this special day. Although I am all for "SPARE NO EXPENSES"!!! I am still happy I opted for a mid-range hotel at a nice poolside ballroom. The smokers (almost all my uncles, especially my dad) enjoyed sneaking out for a puff every now and then.
The stage is too small for the kids to create any mischief (I actually had to go on my cousin's stage at Orchid Country Club to shout at some kids for playing too near the champagne glasses)
I am very close to my uncles and aunties and each one of them turned up for my wedding! So touched...I thought I will get post-wedding blues but actually...I've been busied with catching up on my sleep, super busy at work and busy going over my wedding night again and again in my mind. But most importantly...I am married to my favourite guy in the entire universe...

Some wedding traditions...
1. Bride to carry a fan and toss it out the moment she got into the bridal car.
Rational: 嫁出去的daughter就别回来。。。
2. Family member to pick the fan and bring it home.
Rational: Pick back means 有来有往。
My parents knew about this practise but forgot about it until I learnt about it from the auntie at the GDL item shop. My dad got really anxious about the fan thingy and kept reminding me to get it. I got a nice pink phoenix fan just for this and packed it into my suitcase immediately.
Our taiwanese producer told me that they followed this tradition in Taiwan as well. It is very meaningful.
Then my buddy, Yeh told me that he had been busy doing a documentary on the details of the Chinese traditional wedding! I am pretty interested to catch it on TV. Gotta get the telecast details from Yeh!
A lot of details are lost over time...along with all the rationale of the practises. Both parents kept mum about the tradition...either they don't want to stress us or they simply just don't remember. I hope to piece back all the practises and help all the BTBs to understand and appreciate their own wedding better.

Post-wedding
#1: I want to thank all the brothers for helping out. First is our driver, owner of our wedding car and great buddy of Kelvin - YeeWei! YeeWei was already busying with Kelvin on the 26th November. Took the beetle for a thorough 4hr car wash, took the beetle for the car decor and collecting my wedding gowns!
Followed by Alec, Stezzy, Bernard, Jared and Elvin. I can't thank them enough for ferrying my sisters to and fro...organising and basically...anything we can't attend to personally...they helped us with. They are fantastic!
Elvin flew in especially from ShangHai...very blessed, my dar-dar...to have such wonderful buddies!
Then my sister Rinna and cousin Junna. Junna for coming in even earlier than my own MUA to make up for my sister, cousins and dolling up everyone for my big night...really grateful to both of em...for ushering the 3 little chicks as well.
The 3 little chicks, my Ah-Yees...Samantha, Darie and XingJun...for coming over to stay with me throughout the night...they sure take a lot of anxiety out of me by behaving the way they always did. NOISY and silly and very funny! Thank you, all ya 3 naughty lil gals!
My MUA Sharon and AD photographer Sam and definitely Jit - my Bridal gown designer. Sam was so funny lor...telling us ghost stories in between break...and half the time I was wondering if it is appropriate...hahaha...
One thing I really appreciate about Sam was that...he is able to tell us...where the groom should stand, where the bride should stand, how my mom should prepare 2 ang baos since she wanted us to offer tea to my ancestors...then how he reminded us to take sweet Tang Yuan...and briefing us how we should pose for his photos to turn out better. Sam is fantastic!
Thank Jit not only for the gown, but also for allowing us to trust in him for chosing our bouquets and providing the lovely accessories. Jit turned up for our wedding dinner and stayed throughout. He even frantically brought along one more necklace for me to choose for my Evening Gown...hehehehe....
Then there is Sharon...my MUA who transformed me, my mothers into lovely gorgeous women that night. And for the red roses for my hair...I can't be happier for the results...my hairdo, make up and etc...
In fact all of my relatives, friends and family stayed till the end. The turn-out was so well that I can't believe it is a weekday....and I was worrying all the time that many guests can't make it because its a weekday. But they were all really sporting! Thank you everyone!!!
Then all the Furama Riverfront staff for making night so special and ensuring that everything went smoothly. And Priscilla Chua for the gorgeous wedding favors that we managed to settle in time...

I really enjoyed myself that night and I am super happy to hear from my guests how good the food were and how they had enjoyed seeing us...the couple...so happy...
It is all great!!!

2 days till our big day
Everything in a frenzy again. I think I enjoyed living on the edge too much...but at least I am making sure I leave 26th November free! And I can't meet Kelvin at all on that day...I probably will blog day and night or exhaust my time in Animal Crossing...again...yes...
Anne, I can pass you a cherry and pear liao. My villagers gave me a pear and a cherry and they are growing beautifully in my town.
Current Frenzies:
1) I am currently frantically trying to burn our ROM March-in song! Yet to finish selection of our banquet songs but more or less (in my mind), I know what I want. Trying hard to burn burn burn and test test test.
2) We just collected our wedding album from Travis yesterday. Was a pleasant surprise that he gave us a copy of the DI-ed photos as well! I think our photos looked fantastic. The album is great!
So Kelvin is also frenzily updating our photo montage with the new photos and completing them as well.
3) I am actually late for my manicure/pedicure session but my aunt will understand.
4) Settled with Jit about collection of bridal gowns/suit/bouquet and flower car deco. Luckily Kelvin remembered so he managed to get the white beetle available just in time. Jamie will help me pick up my wedding gown.
5) Settled with Sharon about time to come. address and timing. Luckily she called me and reminded me to wear something easy to remove. So I am so-packing my PJ into my luggage.
Arrgghh...finally finished burning the song. I think I might modify our speech tonight...

Collecting cert on 22nd Nov
I still need to prepare my speech for the wedding...hehehe...but I am watching 鸡同鸭讲...one of my favourite movie when I was young. Dar-dar dunno go where to 'A' this show for me and I am trying to watch it while blogging.
I must make sure I tell Kelvin clearly what is my plan and how we are going to execute it. I am determined not to meet him at all the day before our wedding...so I will have to make sure that everything is done by 25th November. Make sure that luggage is packed and everything will go according to plan.
Of course I never really did plan much either...I am so expecting last min hiccups to happen. Call me twisted, but I will be solely disappointed if they don't happen...
Finally my wedding favor issues are solved and I just need to prepare my Thank You Speech (for us) and burn out the songs for the wedding banquet.
Once all that is done, I will pack my stuff on friday. Wedding heels, gridle, facial care, outfits for our 2 nights stay at Furama Riverfront...I am slowly getting excited...hehehe...
Then I think I will probably just put on a hydrating mask on 26th November and shake my time out in Animal Crossing.
I am excited about seeing all my friends at my wedding and I am praying hard that all of them can make it. I promise to write a brilliant thank-you speech and I promise I will not lose my temper and I promise I will be a radiant bride!!!
Babbling rubbish...I think I will wear back the same dress I wore for my Nichiren ceremony for my ROM cert collection this coming Thursday. Either that or I will wear my dark blue quarter sleeves...I am getting nervous...I need retail therapy!!! Damn tempted to rush to Shiseido counter to pick out the latest lip gloss collection!

GDL - 18 November 2007
Today's a great day. My parents and sis came back in time and we hurriedly rush to Toa Payoh.
Late. Kelvin were just getting out of the car with his 'mei po' and sister...we rushed upstairs...everything was in a frenzy...
Tie red ribbon to the ribena...then the groom's side came in with the cakes, pig trotters and oranges and the dragon phoenix candles. We are also not sure about how the customs goes on our side and we just frantically place everything on the alter then let the groom side take back the stuffs I prepared (basin + pants for groom + bedsheets + tea set + all the GDL items) and 2 boxes of cakes, 2 cans of pig trotters and 2 oranges, the 2 ribenas we prepared and one pair of dragon phoenix candles back.
Pingjing were given and my parents too some amount out and put back some amount. Return to them. Pass ang bao to mei po...my mom start to panic at this point as she don't have a spare ang bao for the sister...
We all told her no need lah...so Kelvin went down with his 'mei po' and sister to load the stuffs onto his father's car and I sat down in relief...
Was pondering on the...ludicrousness of the entire affair when my uncle said we took back the wrong candles!
Groom side should take back 2 phoenix while the bride should take back 2 dragon!
WAHHAAHHH...faster make my cousin drives us all the way from Toa Payoh to Bukit Panjang to exchange the candles then back again...
Phew...finally all that is over...
I opened some of the cakes and within 4 boxes were cleared within minutes...what with all the little kids and adults...none of the swiss roll or cream tarts were spared! I think I made the right choice with Pine Garden! The cakes looked great and I took a lot of pics...will upload tomorrow...
Now I need to rest...

Pigs trotters FOUND!
We can't find pig's trotters! They are part of the pinjing and last week my MIL was lamenting that she can't find them anywhere!
I went to Shop N Save also no stock! We gave up hope and was thinking of substituting with roasted pig or something along that line...
Just 3 more days to my GDL and suddenly...my dad called me! Last 13 cans of Pig Trotters spotted at AMK! He faster grabbed for me liao! Now I felt super lucky again! Life is good!

Mr Koh is cool and I am really thankful to Mr Phang for arranging for us to have Mr Koh offciate our wedding. Phew...one heart attack solved...

Pre-Wedding : HEART ATTACKS!!!
- JP Phang called to inform us that he is away from Singapore during the period of our wedding so he cannot officiate for us. However, he had helped us booked another JP for the job.
- Cans of pig trotters are banned and they've disappeared from supermarkets!!!
- Our banquet coordinator is going on reservist during our wedding!!! I am quite happy 'cos I have a feeling that his replacement will be more pro-active than him.
- AD Photographer never reply emails, sms or phonecalls! Then I faster book a replacement photographer (very good one too) but the idiot finally called back yesterday.
- Replacement coordinator called Kelvin just now...the wedding favor that we had chosen is OUT OF STOCK! We have to find another one!!!
MA DE!!! Luckily lao niang works in a demanding industry where I am prone to all sorts of last min hiccups. In fact, I am blogging on top of solving one major hiccup at work but I will digress..,
To calm myself down, I even managed to called our tour agency for details regarding our honeymoon trip to Hokkaido.
Spring : April
Autumn : September - November
I originally wanted to go in July for lavender blossoming but scared that it will be too hot in Summer. Then late May isn't very nice...according to my friends...the snow are melting halfway and view isn't gorgeous...so the best time is September!

Chase the wedding blues away...

Received my Wishful Tink set from the creator yesterday and I was super delighted! Many thanks to Maria for introducing this set to me. She was so right on! I love it! As I was wearing a black turtle neck yesterday, I immediately put them on and flaunt them around the entire office! Many of the gals asked me where did I order them from...hehehe...not a good idea to tell them as it will only mean more competitor to order the stuffs. :P Even Liping started enquiring about payment mode when she haven't even nail down an order!!!
Women's money are really the easiest to earn...haha...
After blagging or whinning or complaining or ranting about my wedding blues...POST-WEDDING blues!!! I think I am going a tad crazy here...wedding not here and I am already imagining the post-wedding blues. Siao Char boh...
Anyway...I decided I need some retail therapy! At a leisure pace! So I dragged Kelvin with me to Orchard.
And TA-DAH!!! I bought 2 dresses for Chinese New Year and 2008 wedding dinners to attend...I already am planning to attend Anne's one in November 2008!
I slimmed down so much that these dresses actually looked good on me without making me look preggie...hehehehe...I am so so so gonna maintain and lose more weight...
After that we shopped somemore and I finally...or rather Kelvin finally spotted the pens that are perfect for our ROM signing! SUPER HAPPY!
The cases are perfect!
Also found the perfect bunny case for Kelvin to place the PinJin...which I've gone out of my way to ensure that it is a significant amount.................
Finally...a pic we took of all our DDung stuffs to be on display on our big day!
Kelvin forgot to place in our special Ddung wedding invite cards for the group shot...oh well...will try one again tomorrow night...hehehehehehhee....Now that I've chased the wedding blues away...I am going back to gaming on my NDS~

Congratulations to Alec & Christine
Their baby gal was out yesterday...last week was Doreen & Leoric's baby gal, Alyssa. Now Christine & Alec.
We wanted to visit but our parents said no...better not. Just 19 more days to our wedding. We have to play safe. Oh well...after the babies 1st month bah.
Think we will spend our holiday today to rest and relax first. Going to Anthea's birthday party this weekend! I can't wait!
Kinda experiencing the bridal blues...POST...imagined sense of loss...the day is approaching so fast. Argh!!! I wish I had worn my gown longer each time I am over at Jit's for my fitting...I must take a lot and a lot of photos!!! BOOHOOOoooo....I have to return my gown...give it a 2nd life...a chance to be on another bride. I can't keep it in my closet. It will only become a white elephant...
Lucky we managed to secure one more night in the bridal suite using our anniversary voucher...so I can chill out and relax...take my time to return my gown...count the ang bao money and pack slowly...and best of all...2 days breakfast @ THE SQUARE! SLURRRRP~
